Digital IC Design Engineer:

• Front-end digital circuit design
• Analog and digital sections internal to the IC
• Back-end digital design – on target CMOS process
• Floorplanning and positioning of digital block level ports and power supply connections for optimum integration with the overall chip layout; Place and route of the digital block; Post-layout simulation and timing analysis/closure of the digital block
• Verification of IC functionality and performance
• Design documentation
• DVT; PFT
• Synthesis of netlists from the Verilog source for use on target FPGA prototyping platforms.

Candidates must have a bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering or a related subject
Extensive experience of digital IC design using HDL (e.g. Verilog) and logic synthesis preferably in a Cadence based EDA tools environment;
Experience of designing digital blocks for small (1-2 mm²) IC’s addressing high volume, cost-sensitive consumer applications.
Experience in design of embedded digital blocks in a mixed signal IC and understanding of the key interfacing issues.
Be experienced with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
Have excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills;
Be comfortable working in a process driven, ISO 9001 framework for new product introduction;
Produce accurate documentation to the highest standards of completeness, precision and presentation.

Experience in design of CMOS Integrated Circuits and/or
Knowledge of relevant design techniques for consumer products

Digital vacancy example 3

With an appropriate background working for an Electronics Design or IC design or IC fabrication company, you will have experience of sub-micron CMOS technology along with digital design experience covering both FPGA/ASIC and board level circuits. You will have experience of taking a lead role for part of or the whole design process.
Experience of sign-off and back-end flow for ASICs
Embedded microprocessor design experience would be valuable
An appreciation of analogue design techniques. A good understanding of analogue design will be considered an advantage but is not mandatory
